Richard Allen attended Central Saint Martins College in London as a Fine Art (Painting) Undergraduate, studying illustration at Masters level.
He has worked as an illustrator winning numerous international accolades and working with many well-known clients in the US and Britain. In May he won the 2017 Illustrator of the Year Award from the V&A Museum.
His paintings have been shown at the ING Discerning Eye exhibition, and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters exhibition. In 2016, he won the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year. His first solo show took place at Petworth House in West Sussex earlier this year with all of the landscape paintings in the show selling out. His paintings are in the collection of the National Trust and in private collections in the UK, Australia and the US.
